Our guests reside in golden-hued tents with shining wood flooring. Staying under canvas is one of the most romantic and exciting things to do while on safari in Africa. You hear the sounds, feel the wind, and smell the rain before it falls. But this isn't roughing it: the tents are covered in a thick thatch roof and have en-suite facilities with running water, hot showers, flush toilets, and even outdoor baths.

The main lodge, with its soaring thatched ceiling, is where our visitors gather around the large dining tables or lounge in the comfortable armchairs and sofas, telling stories and sharing experiences. Semliki, which is lit by lanterns and open to the elements on one side, makes you feel like you're in the wild. Get out and stroll; there are miles of trails that wind through the savanna's riverine woods, or take a private boat into the shallows of Lake Albert to see some of the region's most beautiful birds.
