The Chimpanzee & Wildlife Lodge
This renowned Kyambura Gorge Lodge, with completely renovated public areas and grounds, was converted from a coffee shop into a breathtakingly magnificent space. The lodge is situated on the outskirts of Queen Elizabeth National Park, with panoramic views of the rolling savanna, distant moonlit mountains, and the buried Kyambura Gorge.
The guest bandas feature an afro-chic aesthetic, with a focus on native objects reimagined in a modern context. Each banda provides a unique view of the savanna or the gorge. There are four premium and four regular bandas, as well as a spa and swimming pool with stunning park views.
The resort is an excellent position for chasing lost chimps in the neighboring sunken forest of Kyambura Gorge and viewing great animals in one of Africa's most beautiful parks, which is centered on the Kazinga Channel canal. The park boasts the most magnificent bird species of any African park, with over 600.
Guests can take part in the Kyambura Gorge Ecotourism project, a set of community and conservation activities established in 2009 to protect the Kyambura Gorge habitat.
New walking safaris have been established around the lodge to explore the stunning landscapes of Kyambura Gorge and the Queen Elizabeth savannah, as well as a recovered wetland. Guests can walk through the Kyambura Gorge buffer zone, which we built to safeguard the delicate ecology from invasion, and plant a seedling to help with its long-term conservation project.
