Rwakobo Rock

Rwakobo Rock is a peaceful and secluded resort where you can experience the spirit of untamed Uganda. Our pleasant and large cottages are scattered across the hill, all very secluded and with spectacular sunset views. The main dining room looks out onto a large expanse of rock that borders the park. Set amid the magnificent Ankole ranchlands that surround Lake Mburo National Park, there is something for everyone here, whether you want to relax in a hammock with an ice-cold drink or venture out into Lake Mburo National Park for an exhilarating day of adventure.

Rwakobo is located on a picturesque outcrop with spectacular views. Zebra, warthog, impala, and bushbuck roam the lodge and frequently cluster at the water hole beneath the dining area. At night, the noises of the bush come to life, letting your imagination run wild.
This lovely site is barely over a kilometer from Lake Mburo National Park's Nshara Gate. Excursions to the park, whether day or night, are well worth it. The drive from the main road goes past the gorgeous Nshara government property, where magnificent Ankole cattle coexist peacefully with herds of Zebra. The Bahima pastoralists in the area continue to live traditional lives and are good caretakers of the natural ecosystem and its biodiversity.

Rwakobo offers a selection of easy and strenuous walks that allow you to get close to nature. Rwakobo also provides mountain biking and night driving, and the park can be explored by car, foot, or boat.

Every night (weather allowing), the friendly Rwakobo staff starts a campfire so you can see the sunset transform into a spectacular starry sky.
