Amuka Safari Lodge

Amuka Lodge, set in a virgin wooded forest in the midst of the world-renowned Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, allows you to experience Africa the way it was meant to be seen. Amuka Lodge provides magnificent experiences with Uganda's lone wild rhinoceros, as well as a diverse range of birds and fauna. Our luxurious accommodations provide all of the luxury not anticipated in the African wilderness, with unfenced chalets that take advantage of the bush setting. Amuka exudes an escapist sense of remoteness, and it feels as if nothing else existed in the world.

Currently, there are 10 units: four family chalets with three beds, ideal for families, and six regular chalets, each with one bedroom and bathroom. Each chalet is named after one of our own rhinos and was built with hardwood timber and stone. All chalets have big, private verandas where tourists can relax on safari chairs and take in the tranquility of the surroundings. All chalets are hidden within the woodlands, ensuring maximum solitude.

Amuka Lodge specializes in safari cuisine, which combines outdoor and indoor cooking and baking. Special dietary requirements for vegetarians, vegans, and allergy sufferers can be accommodated upon request. The day starts with a delicious breakfast and a cup of Ugandan coffee, tea, and freshly squeezed fruit juice. Given Uganda's tropical climate, fresh fruit is always available, followed by a variety of cereals, pancakes, sausages, hash browns, sautéed onion with green peppers and tomatoes, baked beans, fried bananas, and fried green tomatoes. Nobody leaves the table in the morning still hungry!
