Making Of Featurette for Peter Berg's 'The Mosquito Bowl' WWII Movie
"Most of it is getting yourself ready to do it again the next day." Now playing in theaters – and streaming later this month. Netflix debuted a making of promo video for Peter Berg's war action thriller movie titled The Mosquito Bowl – telling the story of football player soldiers heading to fight in the Battle of Okinawa in The Pacific. Based on a remarkable true story (covered in this book), after the attack on Pearl Harbor, four of America's top college football stars set their fame aside to enlist in the US Marines. As the country geared up for total war in the 1940s, one branch of the service dominated the aspirations of college football stars: the United States Marine Corps. This story features the retelling of one famous football match ?, on Christmas Eve of 1944, when the 4th and 29th Marine regiments found themselves in the middle of the Pacific Ocean training for what would ultimately be the worst battle of the war ― the invasion of Okinawa ― their ranks included one of the greatest pools of football talent ever assembled: many former All Americans, captains from Wisconsin, Brown & Notre Dame, and many others. The movie's main cast features Nicholas Galitzine, Bill Skarsgård, Ray Nicholson, Tom Francis, Brent Comer, and Dominic Bogart. The WWII movie just opened in theaters this past weekend (but no one went to see it). This promo shows Peter Berg on set with Ray Nicholson and the other boys discussing how intense and invigorating this set was. ? // Continue Reading ›
