Kôji Yakusho in 'Did Someone Happen to Mention Me?' Series Teaser
"Who the hell's this old geezer?" Netflix has revealed a funny teaser trailer for Did Someone Happen to Mention Me?, a comedy series from Japan about a famous actor. Who returns home and discovers he's not famous anymore – no one knows him. This clever new series stars superb Japanese actor Kôji Yakusho, who earned worldwide fame starring in Perfect Days a few years ago. This begins when Gen Takasegawa — a legendary actor once described as "known by every single person in Japan" — returns to Japan for the first time in two years after the pandemic, having found success on the London stage. Yakusho throws himself into wildly contrasting roles across a whirlwind of transformations: from a majestic King Lear to a homeless man, a menacing figure in a fur coat, and even a sauna attendant in a pink polo shirt and towel, fanning hot air over customers, among several other guises. Once a man at the height of glory and then reduced to zero, Takasegawa — a walking bundle of raw need for recognition — struggles through all kinds of situations & roles, clawing his way back up in a desperate, awkward journey you simply cannot take your eyes off. This looks like good fun! And especially entertaining watching Kôji Yakusho play all of these different characters. // Continue Reading ›
