Netflix has unveiled their official trailer for the uber-ambitious film Sacrifice, an especially provocative eco-warrior thriller from French filmmaker Romain Gavras as his first English-language feature. It will finally open in October after first premiering at TIFF a year ago. At an elite fundraising gala, celebrities and socialites find themselves in danger when armed activists storm the underground venue in pursuit of a relic that could unlock supernatural powers. This film stars Anya Taylor-Joy as Joan, an eco-warrior who takes hostage this special rich person event held inside a stunning marble mine. "Thought-provoking, visually arresting, and powered by a kinetic original script co-written with Will Arbery (also of Succession), Gavras' Sacrifice is a satirical action-adventure & visually explosive epic led by a magnetic star-studded ensemble."
