Kabalega Wilderness Lodge, Uganda.
Inspired by the breathtaking majesty of Murchison Falls National Park's wild landscapes, as well as the history and culture of Uganda's Bunyoro area, Kabalega Wilderness Lodge will captivate you with its charm and unique location near to one of Uganda's largest natural reserves. It is made up of individual Safari Cabins set across 7 acres of bristling bushes along the banks of the majestic River Nile.
All of the lodge structures are built with an architectural balance of mud and wood, and the roof is thatched with chosen grass from the undulating plains of the surrounding towns. The walls are plastered in an African manner using mud and wattle with a modern twist. The lodge is attractively designed with primitive safari furniture and fittings made from carefully chosen local and natural materials. The cabins and dining areas all have an open design to give you a sense of oneness with nature and amazing unbroken views of the magnificent and wild surrounds, ensuring that your unique safari experience continues even at the lodge.
Kabalega Wilderness Lodge is named after Omukama (King) Chwa II Kabalega, popularly known as Kabalega (18 June 1853 - 6 April 1923), the ruler of Bunyoro in Uganda from 1870 to 1899 and often regarded as Uganda's greatest king. Murchison Falls National Park is located in the Bunyoro Kingdom, and our resort pays honor to this magnificent King, as well as the Bunyoro people and culture.
