Griffin Falls Campsite

Griffin Falls Camp also known as Mabira Forest Camp is on the edge of a vast trail system in beautiful Mabira Forest. After a beautiful 30 minute walk through pristine rain forest, you reach the breathtaking Griffin Falls. Another hour up the trail and you can reach Namusa Hill for an overnight experience, or just a longer hike.

No matter what your interests are, you'll never run out of ways to enjoy the beautiful forest. Griffin Falls Camp is conveniently located just 10 km off the highway between Kampala and Jinja. After an amazing experience in the forest, you can feel good about where your money ends up because all the profits from Griffin Falls Camp are put into sustainable development projects in the villages in and around Mabira Forest.

The Griffin Falls Camp is owned by the Mabira Forest Integrated Community Organisation (MAFICO), a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO). MAFICO's objective is to promote the livelihoods and wellbeing of local communities while safeguarding the environment via development. MAFICO promotes forest stewardship in the surrounding communities through environmental, networking, and mobilization of 30 Community Based Organizations, as well as fundraising for long-term and beneficial community initiatives. The earnings from the camp are reinvested in community programs like as tree planting, HIV/AIDS positive living groups, water and sanitation, education, and others.

The campsite is located in Mabira Forest, near to Wasswa Village, 10 kilometers from Lugazi Town on the Kampala-Jinja route. The map above can assist you navigate through the sugar cane fields to get to the camp. Please contact us, and we will arrange for a boda boda to lead your vehicle.

Visitors without vehicles can take a taxi from Kampala or Jinja taxi parks and get off at the Lugazi taxi park. Hire a motorcycle (Boda Boda) for around 4,000 Ugx to Wasswa Village. The campsite is roughly 1 kilometer from Wasswa Village, just down the hill and past the power lines. Please don't hesitate to call if you have any queries along the route.
