Official Trailer for 'Mighty Mary' Doc About All-Women Sailing Team
"It's really important to see other women doing exceptional things." Huzzah! Skydance Sports has revealed an official trailer for a documentary film titled Mighty Mary, sailing into theaters starting in September. This premiered at the 2026 Nantucket Film Festival earlier this year and is getting a theatrical debut before it's on VOD. Narrated by Elizabeth Banks and Hugh Jackman, directed by award-winning documentary filmmaker (and Olympian) Mary Mazzio, the film is about the very first all-women sailing team. Mighty Mary (also the name of the sailboat they were on during the race) is a riveting, heart-racing documentary about the first-ever all women's sailing crew to contend for the famed America's Cup in 1995. This inspiring project is a story about a team of unlikely people who came together to achieve the unthinkable and do the impossible, breaking boundaries and rewriting the her story of women's sports forever. There's also another similar doc called Maiden (watch the trailer) - about the first all-woman team in the Whitbread Round the World sailing race back in the 1980s. ⛵ This looks entertaining and gripping, and obviously very inspiring. // Continue Reading ›
