"Survivors survive." 20th Century Studios has unveiled the first teaser trailer for
Whalefall, a must watch new survival thriller coming to theaters
this fall. This is the tale of a man swallowed by a whale. But instead of being unrealistic or fantastical (like in the
Pinocchio story), it's an actually realistic and unsettling look at what would happened to someone if this
really happened. Adapted from the
novel of the same name written by Daniel Kraus. "The odds of being swallowed alive by a whale are not zero." A scuba diver searching for his father's remains in the ocean is swallowed by a
sperm whale, leaving him an hour to find a way to escape. The hard-earned lessons that his late father imparted may be the key to his escape. Reminds me of other contained survival thrillers like
Buried and
127 Hours.

Emily Rudd. This is such an intense teaser! Wow! I am still amazed they actually decided to film this realistically, with all the thrills of Scuba diving and mystery of underwater creatures. How will he ever get out of this predicament?! //
