Extra Crazy Deepfakes Chaos 'Appofeniacs' Indie Film Official Trailer

"This is on you!" Magenta Light Studios has revealed the official trailer for an indie film creation known as Appofeniacs, which is the first feature by music video director Chris Marrs Piliero. The title Appofeniacs is a play on the word apophenia, which is the human tendency to see patterns or connections in random things. This film is a dark A.I. horror-satire about the chaos caused by deepfake tech getting out of hand. These stupid videos are everywhere already! As AI-generated deepfakes spread, a group of interconnected people descends into paranoia, blurring the line between reality and AI fabrication, and unleashing violent consequences. "The true horror lies not in the deception, but in what happens when people believe it." Yep. Appofeniacs co-stars Aaron Holliday, Simran Jehani, Paige Searcy, Michael Abbott Jr., Harley Bronwyn, Will Brandt, Jermaine Fowler, Scarlett DeMeo, Chad Addison, along with Sean Gunn. This premiered at FrightFest & Fantastic Fest last year and hits limited theaters in October starting in the fall.
