Park Shoebill

Welcome to Bussi Island Park!

Shoebill is located on Bussi Island, 2"49 north of the Equator, on the stunning and scenic Lake Victoria, southwest of Entebbe town. The island is only approximately 8 km from Entebbe and may be reached in 40 minutes by motorized canoe or 15 minutes by speed boat. It is near the Entebbe International Airport and provides a magnificent view of the Entebbe Peninsula.

Bussi Island is home to Mabamba Bay, which is designated as an Important Birding Area and a RAMSAR site under international protection. The island is home to around 280 bird species, as well as a variety of tree types and other plant life. The sitatunga or marshbuck is a rare swamp-dwelling antelope.
