Gorilla Valley Lodge

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is just one meter away from your veranda. It feels as if you've been allowed into the majestic mountain gorillas' home. However, these gentle giants are not your hosts; rather, they are your neighbors who occasionally emerge from the forest to spend time in our gardens. This is what makes Gorilla Valley Lodge so unique.

The lodge's site is extremely unusual, as it is located on the edge of a thick forest and on a steep slope. Imagine waking up to the sounds of the forest, enjoying a cup of coffee or tea on your private balcony, and watching the forest come alive as the mist magically gives way to a lush jungle.

Gorilla Valley Lodge, a'medium range hotel', has 12 rooms with spacious private bathrooms, toilets, and a dining and waiting area. It is beautifully situated in a lowland evergreen forest with breathtaking views of the African Eden, rich in wildlife, and the majestic Virunga Volcanoes nearby. Each room is meticulously furnished with twin beds and designed in a trendy throwback manner.

Gorilla Valley Lodge is a slice of forest paradise away from the crowds, a place to recharge and reconnect with nature. And trust me, you could never get closer to Bwindi!!!! GVL is home to gentle giants, including gorillas, that occasionally visit our gardens to feed and play. From the apartments' verandas, you can practically touch this national park, which is home to our mountain gorillas.

Getting there: Gorilla Valley Lodge is near Rushaga Ranger Station. Signposts lead the route from Kabale Road. In Rushaga, take the road on the right that leads directly to the lodge.
