Dr. James Mulwana, an entrepreneur, industrialist, and businessman from Uganda, founded UBL. He was the Chairman and CEO of the Mulwana Group of Companies. UBL was founded in 1967 as a joint venture with Chloride (UK) Limited, and James Mulwana purchased the company outright in 1990.
