After exploring the Nile in 1986 and 1995, Adrift made the first-ever descent of the Victoria Nile in 1996, introducing commercial rafting to Uganda. Rafting has since emerged as the most popular tourism activity in the country. Contrary to popular belief, the Nile is clean, warm, and beautiful in Uganda. Unlike the more well-known region of the Nile in Egypt, river traffic at the source is limited to dugout boats, monitor lizards, rafts, and cautious river otter.
