Kluges' Guest Farm

Kluges Guest Farm, located south of Fort Portal and just a few kilometers from the Fort Portal-Kasese highway, was initially designed as a commercial farm enterprise. However, during the last 20 years, Mariam and Stefan Kluge have progressively transformed the property into one of Uganda's most advanced owner-operated eco-lodges. The lodge has 8 bungalows and 2 large family cottages, for a total of 12 double / twin rooms with en-suite amenities of international grade. Furthermore, the lodge location is enhanced with one of Uganda's most advanced camping amenities. All of this miracle is set on 70 acres of tropical forest and vast botanical gardens.

Because of its strategic location, the lodge is close to important tourist sites such as Kibale National Park and its chimp armies, the wonderful alpine landscapes of the Rwenzori Mountains National Park, and the deep tropical woods of Semuliki National Park. Other attractions in the area include the Sempaya Hot Springs, the Amabere Caves, hikes to the surrounding Crater Lakes, and a visit to the Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary, which is adjacent to Kibale National Park. Fort Portal also houses the Toro Kingdom's palace and parliament, as well as the Botanical Gardens on the outskirts of town and the Fort Portal Golf Course.
